Aussie OCCA win again for Honest to Goodness

Honest to Goodness has for the fifth year running taken out Australia’s Favourite Organic Brand, Best Organic Online Store, Best Organic Product and Best Organic Wholesaler, in the Organic Consumer Choice Awards (OCCA’s).

Honest to Goodness also took out Organic Product of the Year 2019 with their new Organic Supreme Cocoanut Cream 400ml, which has an extra creamy consistency due to its high-fat percentage, meanwhile it is completely free from nasty additives such as thickeners, emulsifiers, gums and sweeteners.

In an increasingly competitive marketplace for socially and environmentally conscious food, Honest to Goodness co-owner, Matt Ward, is humbled by the continued recognition, though sees it as a gratifying result of continued investment in innovation.

“This has been a big year for Karen, myself and the team, having invested heavily in revitalising Honest to Goodness with a rebrand to keep ahead of the new wave of smaller and agile challenger brands,” said Ward.

“Family-owned Australian brands are still thriving in the grocery world that is dominated by the majors, Coles & Woolworths,” continued Ward. “We’ve found that consumers are increasingly seeking quality and transparency in their food as they become more health-conscious as well as more environmentally aware, favouring sustainable and ethical supply chains.

“We offer a whole pantry of organic food options, with many core and much-loved quality products, though we recognise it is still important to adapt quickly to trends.

“With the rebrand this year, which saw a refreshed brand look and a more user-friendly website design, it will give us more flexibility to bring to market complete new ranges that appeal to a broader group of consumers.

“We will also introduce packaging innovation that is more eco-friendly, which we will do as we conduct more ongoing testing with our products.

“Come the new year Australia’s conscious consumer will appreciate Honest to Goodness’ launch of a long list of new food ranges, to whet their appetite,” said Matt.

Honest to Goodness stocks over 1,000 organic and natural products including nuts, tinned goods, sauces, superfoods and natural sweeteners. Their brand maintains strong and wide distribution, with their products ranging in over 800 retailers, including independent grocers and health food stores Australia-wide.

The OCCA’s are organised annually by the Centre for Organic Research and Education as part of National Organic Week. The awarding is decided by consumers and highlights the value and importance of organic products.
