Cargill supplies sugar substitute

Following the approval of novel food ingredient Xtend isomaltulose in Australia and New Zealand, Cargill has announced it will be supplying the unique slow-release nutritive sweetener to the food industry.

With the ability to deliver glucose and fructose like regular sugar when digested, but in a slower manner, isomaltulose results in a low blood glucose and insulin response making it ideal for maintaining normal blood-sugar levels.
