Australian Food and Pharmaceutical Industries (AFPI) has created a digestible chewing gum that is sugar free and made from 100 per cent natural ingredients.

The company wanted to make a gum that didn’t cause gastric issues when swallowed, or contained synthetic resins, fillers, preservatives and artificial sweeteners.

Mast Chew, a sub-brand of AFPI, is made from an ancient Mediterranean gum called Pistacia Resin.

Used for thousands of years to maintain gut health and treat abdominal related issues including heartburn, gastric and intestinal ulcers, Pistacia Resin is a mastic-like secretion from the Pistacia genus of trees, the company explains.

It is combined with Xylitol and mint to create a unique yet familiar minty fresh flavour and texture that cleanses the mouth and soothes the stomach.

Containing no synthetics, latex, sugars, colours, additives or artificial sweeteners, Mast Chew is easily digested by the body and has been shown to assist in the treatment of stomach ulcers when swallowed.

Offering antimicrobial benefits, Mast Chew assists in the aid of dental hygiene by preventing tooth decay and eliminating bad breath, according to the company.

Chewing of gum has also been linked to reduced stress, improved memory function and decreased hunger levels by mimicking the rhythmic act of chewing food.

Mast Chew was founded by Dr. Sharif Sharifi in New South Wales.

It is available in a 16-piece blister pack, at an RRP of $4.50, and a 35-piece bottle, at an RRP of $6.95.

H2coco has launched a pure pink coconut water range.

The new range is pink when bottled and like a non-alcoholic chilled glass of rose.

It is a sweeter, lighter version of H2coco’s classic pure coconut water.

Hand-picked from a small province in Thailand, H2coco is the first Australian coconut water brand to introduce the pink waters fro Nam Hom coconuts.

The region is famed for its nutrient-rich soil and coconuts are only harvested once they have reached a young maturity stage – this is to optimise the delicate composition of minerals that causes the water to turn pink and give it a slightly sweeter and lighter delicious taste.

H2coco’s pure pink coconut water is farmed from a small collective of sustainable farmers in Thailand’s Amphawa region, where their Nam Hom coconuts are known for their pinky hues and floral aroma.

H2coco founder and CEO David Freeman said the new pre pink coconut water range tastes and smells sweeter than regular coconut water, appealing to non-coconut drinkers and expanding H2coco’s market reach.

“Pure pure pink coconut water range is fragrant, sweet coconut water with a flavour that will please even the most discerning palate. Classic coconut water can be an acquired taste and we believe pure pure pink coconut water will appeal to everyone.”

The range is available at Woolworths stores nationally in 1-litre tetra packs at an RRP pf $7.

Smaller 280mL bottles are available at Caltex at an RRD of $3.50.

Beer Cartel has taken a different approach this Christmas allowing Australian’s to skip long shopping queues and chill out with a beer surprise every day in the lead up to Christmas.

The company has created a Beer Advent Calendar that offers beer lovers the chance to count down the days to Christmas, with a different beer each day, from December 1 to 25.

Since its inception in 2016, Beer Cartel have sold thousands of Beer Advent Calendars, but this year’s case has a twist.

Beer Cartel has partnered with seven breweries to create flavoursome limited-edition brews that are only available in the Beer Cartel Advent Calendar.

In addition, all 25 beers featured in the calendar have been sourced from 100 per cent Australian Independent breweries.

Twenty-three different beer styles are included, from perfect pale ales to interesting IPAs and everything in between.

Beer mavericks and founders of Beer Cartel, Richard Kelsey and Geoff Huens tried and tested countless beer combinations and Advent Calendar designs to create the ultimate package and one-of-a-kind gift.

“Back in 2015 we started to notice the growth of Beer Advent Calendars overseas,” said Kelsey.

“We then took this concept and have tweaked it over the last four years to create this amazing pre-Christmas gift.

Each year we select a completely new range of beers ensuring there are no repeats. This year’s case is all about variety, flavour and supporting Australian craft brewers. We’re not going to spoil the surprise by revealing which beers are hiding inside, but you can expect to find amazing hand-picked craft beers from world class Australian breweries,” he said.

Beer Cartel will be delivering the Advent Calendars all over Australia to ensure everyone can start their calendar on time.

Tasting notes of each beer will be released via Beer Cartel’s social media pages each day of December.

Pricing starts from $119.99.
