Farmers and fine food producers are bringing in their best in the annual series of the Sydney Royal Spring Fine Food competitions.
The show is a series of competitions at The Stables, Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park.
Fine Food committee chair Lachlan Bowtell said it was getting tougher on judges every year as the standard of products they assessed was getting better.
“We are fortunate in Australia to have among the world’s best and most innovative agriculture and food manufacturing industries that are delivering consistent food products every day to an even more demanding customer,” said Bowtell.

“It’s a real privilege to be involved in this world class program. Whether the entrants secure a highly prized medal or not, the feedback they receive sees many progressive entrants take this on board and return the following year with an even better product,” he said.
“The Sydney Royal Fine Food Show medal is a symbol of excellence and definitely has a massive impact on those businesses that are the engine room of the food industry,” said Bowtell.
Judging commenced on the 30th of August and runs through to the 13th of September.
Sections include an olive oil competition, smallgoods and charcuterie competition, and branded meat competitions for lamb, pork and beef.
Medal and trophy recipients of the show will be awarded at the Sydney Royal Taste of Excellence Awards, on the 21st of September at The Stables, Sydney Olympic Park.
