Four Pillars wins gold at 2015 World Spirits Competition

Victorian gin distillery, Four Pillars has collected a gold medal for its Barrel Aged Gin at the 2015 World Spirits Competition.

Held Last Friday in San Francisco, Four Pillars was one of only two Australian distillers to collect a gold medal at the show, the other being the Bundaberg Distilling Company.

Four Pillars’ Barrel Aged Gin rests in seasoned French oak chardonnay barrels from local Yarra Valley winemakers.

The recent win now sees all three of the distillers’ commercially released gins brought up to gold medal status.

The distiller's core product, The Rare Dry collected a Double Gold at the 2014 World Spirits Competition in San Francisco; Gold at the 2014 International Wine and Spirits Competition in Hong Kong and Silvers at the Australian Distilled Spirits Awards, IWSC London and another at San Francisco this year.

The third gin in Four Pillars portfolio is the Navy Strength Gin, which won gold in the IWSC Hong Kong in 2015. The Navy Strength has an ABV of 58.8 percent and in place of the oranges, native finger limes are used along with locally grown ginger and turmeric.
