Gelato Fiasco arrives in Australia

When Gelato Fiasco hits freezers in Australia for the first time this July, it will not be for the fainthearted. The fusing of small town Portland, Maine, USA and Italian tradition has resulted in an explosion of big flavours packed into a gelato pint – think Sriracha chilli, whiskey, bacon and pancakes.

Gelato Fiasco is the brainchild of Portland, Maine’s Josh Davis and Bruno Tropeano, who spent years learning the techniques and practices of the original Italian masters of gelato. With each pint of Gelato Fiasco containing pockets of sauce and bursting with unexpected ingredients, one thing’s for sure, it’s not your typical gelato.

The Gelato Fiasco range, available from 7-Eleven stores, includes:

  • Wake N’ Bacon: Pancake flavoured gelato with maple syrup and bacon flavoured candies
  • The Big County Brownie: Mint flavoured gelato with brownie pieces and a chocolate sauce
  • Maine Munchies: Peanut butter gelato with salted choc pretzels
  • The Log Cabin: Chocolate gelato, whiskey syrup and Sriracha flake coated almonds

To celebrate the launch, the Gelato Fiasco Log Cabin will pop up in Melbourne’s Fitzroy, opening on Friday, 5 August and running for six weeks.
