Healthy frozen meatballs

Feeding families healthy, nutritious and tasty dinners straight from the supermarket market freezer just got a whole lot easier with new Magic Meatballs.

100 per cent Australian with no preservatives or artificial additives, the meatballs combine quality ingredients with home-style cooking to make a simple and convenient yet nutritious freezer dinner option.

Available in two flavours, Grass-fed Beef with Mushroom and Free-range Chicken with Thai Herbs, the meatballs are carefully prepared using sautéed fresh herbs and vegetables. They are then par cooked and frozen for the simplest of dinners that are mess-free, fast to prepare and most importantly, nutritionally dense ‘real’ food.

Founded by Alison Heagney, Magic Meatballs were born out of the frustration of having no time to prepare food for her fussy eater and limited healthy quick options at the supermarket.

“I was concerned for my son who was such a fussy eater so I would make these meatballs and pack them with ‘hidden’ veggies and put them in the freezer as my ‘go to’ meal. They became an absolute staple in our home,” she explained.

“Then I started making them for friends and I suppose the rest is history – I saw an opportunity to provide my ‘meal in a meatball’ to time-poor families across the country.”

Heagney teamed with Bradley Wardrop-Brown, Director and Principal Food Scientists at BOI Food tech & Packaging, who specialises in minimally processed extended shelf life goods, to make her home product a supermarket and wholesale reality.

The meatballs are available retail in the freezer section at Woolworths.
