Kellogg acquires Specialty Cereals

Kellogg Australia has announced its intention to acquire Specialty Cereals, a privately owned manufacturing business, and recently Highly Commended winner at the FOOD Challenge Awards.

Through Specialty Cereals, Kellogg will also be acquiring the licence for Vogel’s cereals and snacks in Australia and the UK, as well as the Wild Oats and Cerevite Brands.

The acquisition will cement a 20 year relationship between the companies, as Specialty Cereals is already a co-manufacturer and co-packer for Kellogg.

“This acquisition will provide Kellogg Australia with an entry into the fast-growing Natural Foods segment,” said Kellogg Australia’s managing director, David Denhol.

Pending regulatory approval, the acquisition is expected to be settled in approximately six to eight weeks.
