Exporter JAK Fruit, Victoria’s Belvedere Fruit Growers and UK-based Mack Multiples have sent their first shipment of Koala Easy Peel oranges to Britain.
The fruit is being sold in Sainsbury’s supermarkets.
The unique orange has low acid, high sugar and is easy to peel, which makes it a winner with the aged, children and sports men and women.
“The success to launching a product like this has come down to everyone putting their cards on the table and being open and transparent in all dealings and selecting the right customer in the right market,” said a statement from JAK Fruit.
