In Queensland’s home of peanuts, Kingaroy, Picky Picky Peanuts has launched a series of nutty innovations.
Most notably, Mitey Aussie nuts, which is a collaboration with Vegemite.
In addition to Mitey Aussie nuts, Picky Picky Peanuts has launched two other products to meet the growing demand including the locally famous ‘In Shell Salted’ peanuts in 300g and a 4-pack of its number-one seller Sweet Chilli’n’Lime.
At first the range was launched exclusively in Queensland and across a selected number of Woolworths stores.
Now, they have been made available nation-wide as well as online.
Bega Foods general manager Adam McNamara said the recent purchase by Bega of the Peanut Company of Australia (PCA) – owner of Picky Picky Peanuts – has given the brand licence to grow through innovation.
“Bega is the proud owner of PCA and through that ownership, we believe we can help re- invigorate the Picky Picky Peanut brand by providing greater opportunity for innovation and brand collaborations.
“Last year, Bega also bought Vegemite and the original Peanut Butter – and we can’t wait to see what the future holds,” said McNamara.
PCA is based in Australia’s peanut capital, Kingaroy and works directly with Queensland peanut farmers.
It has been regarded as the nation’s leading supplier of locally grown peanuts for ninety-four years, established in 1924, and represents over 100 farming families.
