Samuel Smith & Son to distribute The King’s Ginger in Australia

Berry Bros & Rudd has appointed Samuel Smith & Son as sole distributor of The King’s Ginger in Australia, effective August 1st, 2015.

The King’s Ginger is a liqueur specifically formulated by Berry Bros in 1903 for King Edward VII. Rich and zesty, the liqueur was created to stimulate and revivify His Majesty after morning rides in his new horseless carriage – a Daimler.

It has been appreciated by bon viveurs, sporting gentlemen and high-spirited ladies ever since.

In recent years The King’s Ginger has grown in popularity primarily consumed neat on the rocks or as a cocktail ingredient.

Johnny Roberts, Regional Spirits Director – APAC, commented “We want to thank Suntory for introducing The King’s Ginger to Australia. The appointment of Samuel Smith & Son is exciting and builds on 15-years of business between our companies. We are delighted to strengthen our relationship with a family-owned independent company that shares many of our values. The King’s Ginger is in very good hands.”

Adam O’Neill, General Manager – Samuel Smith & Son, commented “We would like to acknowledge the fine work that Suntory has undertaken in building The King’s Ginger in the on premise and independent retail channels. We are thrilled to be able to deepen our association and working partnership with Berry Bros & Rudd and look forward to further strengthening the profile of this exciting brand in the Australian market.”
