Tivoli and City Winery join forces

Two Queensland hospitality companies have joined forces with The Tivoli joins together with a new collaboration with City Winery.

City Winery will be The Tivoli’s exclusive hospitality partner, bringing a premium food and beverage service to the venue to service corporate and private events.

This new partnership will complement the premium music, comedy, cabaret and live entertainment offering, The Tivoli is renowned for.

City Winery’s award-winning culinary team, led by executive chef Travis Crane, will source
and showcase the best local and seasonal produce, freshly prepared on-site in The Tivoli’s
commercial kitchen.

The partnership is a rare COVID-19 success story and stems from the creativity and entrepreneurship of two independent businesses determined to remain responsive and relevant in a challenging market.

Creative director Dave Sleswick said while The Tivoli remained a fiercely proud live music
venue, ongoing disruptions to the performance industry prompted it to diversify the
experiences it offered guests.

The Tivoli’s renewed emphasis on dining is a nostalgic nod to its history as a theatre
restaurant and builds on its recent success with Commune, a private dining experience
created in the wake of COVID-19 restrictions.

City Winery co-founder Adam Penberthy said the partnership not only provided high-quality, on-site hospitality and catering services to The Tivoli but gave the expanding City Winery business access to a second production kitchen.

“We see this partnership as an invitation to create elevated food and beverage experiences
that complement The Tivoli’s rich arts and cultural offerings,” Penberthy said.

An advocate of showcasing locally sourced and farm-direct produce, Crane’s launch
menu also includes crispy octopus with spiced carrot ketchup; a share plate of slow-cooked beef rib with house made flatbread, pickles and beetroot hummus; a rotating selection of Australian cheeses; and a dessert of fried apple pie with cultured cream.

The Tivoli will stock the artisan, small-batch, handmade Gerler wines produced by winemaker David Cush for City Winery.
